Is my smartphone NFC compatible?

All NFC smartphones are equipped with a contactless antenna and can therefore be compatible with Wizway’s electronic ticketing service. Two technologies allow you to securely store your tickets on your cell phone:

  • the SE technology currently available on Samsung smartphones,
  • HCE technology available on all Android smartphones.

We use one or the other of these two technologies depending on the configuration of your smartphone. In order to accept HCE mobile technology, updates to the transportation network’s validation equipment may be required before you can benefit from the dematerialization of your tickets in your phone. Below you will find the smartphones currently accepted on each transport network. We invite you to follow the information channels of your transport network to know when your phone will be accepted following the updates of the validation equipment:

All iPhones are equipped with NFC technology, which after payment is now opening up to transport solutions. Already available in Asia and the United States, NFC services for transportation will be gradually deployed in Europe. How to install the service?

  1. From your transport application*, you will be asked to download the “Contactless Ticket” extension from your application store (e.g. Google PlayStore).
  2. Install the “Contactless Ticket” application
  3. At the end of the installation, you are automatically redirected to your transport application. If not, click on the “back” button on your smartphone.
  4. Back in your transport application, a digital transport card is created on your smartphone and will allow you to save your tickets securely on the mobile.

Your service is now installed, buy your tickets from your transport application. Once the payment is made, they are instantly stored in your digital transport card. To travel, nothing could be easier! Bring your smartphone close to a validator or control device, and your ticket is automatically recognized. Just remember to activate the NFC function on your mobile.

The installation of the service did not work, what can I do?

The initial creation of your travel card takes an average of 35 seconds, but this time may vary depending on the quality of your WiFi or 4G connection. In a few rare cases, the installation fails, usually due to a connection failure. Simply retry an installation, making sure you have good network coverage and keeping your screen active without exiting the application.

Why doesn’t the Contactless Ticket extension have an interface?

“Contactless Ticket” allows you to create and secure the dematerialization of your tickets and transport cards on your mobile. It works as a plugin/add-on to the transport applications* that only allow you to view and buy your tickets.

What happens if I change my cell phone, lose it or have it stolen?

If you change your cell phone, you will have to reinstall the contactless transport and ticket application to be able to use your services again. Concerning your tickets, each carrier has its own management, we ask you to contact your transport operator to know its service policy. In most cases, anonymous credentials will be lost and non-anonymous credentials (such as subscriptions) can be reconstructed from your customer account.
